How to wash clothes when you don’t have the modern convenience of a washer and dryer? The Brazilians do it all the time, though this remains a mystery to us. When our washing machine broke, we had the clever idea (and by ‘clever’ I mean completely ridiculous) of using Zoë and Johnathon’s kiddie pool as a make-shift washing machine. We threw in the clothes, poured in the right ingredients, and even waded in the pool, with both of us stomping in two different directions to “agitate.” Needless to say, we probably looked like total dorks, but doing the laundry has never been so memorable.
