Thank all of you who are praying . . . we're still awaiting the arrival of those visas. Our agent has told us it should be no later than this Thursday (October 19th). If this holds true, we will leave either Thursday or Sunday (Oct. 22nd) for Manaus.
However, in the meantime we needed to get a "Brazil-fix." Enter "Brazil by the Bay," a quaint taco-shop style eatery that serves the most authentic Brazilian food you'll find in San Diego! (and for only $10 a plate, the cheapest!) The food I (Josh) had included black beans, rice, and fish plate sprinkled with farofa seasoning, and "Guarana," the beloved Brazilian soda. It was quite tasty and identical to the kind of food we ate on our last trip to Brazil in 2005. It was a great little taste of Brazil, enjoyed with some great friends.
